"My dogs rotate between 5 Smack flavours to give them the most that raw food can between the different proteins offered. I have a Great Dane a medium mixed breed and a senior shitzu. Great Danes have an average short life span. I believe with high quality food, free of carcinogens I will give him the longest, healthiest life possible. I am trying to be a bit more precise with the feeding. How much does 1 cup of dog food weigh? I am trying to give my dog 700 calories a day so I figure that amounts to 1.4 or 1.5 cups to round out. But given the large pieces of food - hard to measure

Hello, we bought our first bag to try today and I had a question about the feeding amounts. Do you break it up into small pieces and measure out the cups that way? We just fed our two pups this a.m. and the bag says it's got 2.5cups but if we break it down to 1/4 and 1/2 twice a day the bag would last maybe 3 days? But breaking it up seems like I can get a few more days so just trying to understand the best way to portion it out. We are going from a 100% raw diet to Smack due to it being easier when we travel but getting slightly confused on how to do the portions based on what is estimated in the bag of 2.5cups.
