All dehydration of meats are done by Smack Pet Food's newly designed facility in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Since there is no out-sourcing of meat dehydration, we can keep a close eye on the quality of our product and ensure its nutritional integrity. In-house dehydration also means a more affordable product to our customers.

Whole protein sources: Our protein sources are always raw dehydrated meat (bone-in for our chicken recipe) and never by-products. Every recipe we make contains at least 50% chicken when reconstituted.

The chicken we use is Manitoba-Grown, free-range and hormone-free.

Whole fruits & veggies: We use a wide spectrum of colourful, fresh, raw, air-dry dehydrated fruits and vegetables which are rich in numerous phytochemicals, vitamins and minerals.

Gluten-free grain: Gluten is one of the most prevalent food allergens for dogs. We use gently cooked, gluten-free, GMO-free millet (GMO: Genetically Modified Organism).

Alfalfa Leaf: One of the very best foods this Earth has produced, Arabs have fed their horses alfalfa leaves for many years - supposedly the very secret to their swift and strong horses.

Alfalfa is rich in roughly 300 nutrients and phytonutrients, minerals, and chlorophyll, contains 8 amino acids and all known vitamins. It’s reported to have use in treatment of intestinal ulcers, kidney, bladder, prostate disorders, and the prevention of arthritis, diabetes, and asthma.

The added alfalfa leaf to your dog's diet will also ensure better mineral absorption and aids digestion as it is abundant in degestive enzymes.

Hemp: Hemp contains a wide array of amino acids and is rich in EFAs (Essential Fatty Acids) and GLA (Gamma Linoleic Acid). Hemp is known to control cholesterol and aid in the treatment of arthritis and inflamation.

Rosemary: We add rosemary to our recipes because it is a natural, powerful anti-oxidant with an excellent ability to preserve food.

Our meals for dogs are complete and can be fed on their own. However, feel free to give your dog a bone to chew on as it promotes healthy teeth and gums.
